How to Price Your Used Electronics Fairly (and Sell Faster)

The Right Price Is a Research Problem
Sellers who price based on what they paid — rather than what the market will pay — are the ones with listings that go stale.
Start With the Market, Not Your Receipt
Search Nefxi and similar platforms for the exact model you're selling. Look at what is currently listed AND what has recently sold. The ask price and the sold price are often different.
Apply a Condition Multiplier
- Like New (box, accessories, no marks): 75–85% of new retail price
- Excellent (light use, all accessories): 60–70% of new retail
- Good (visible wear, functional): 45–55% of new retail
- Fair (scratches, minor issues disclosed): 30–40% of new retail
Factor in Age and Model Generation
Technology depreciates faster than most sellers expect. Check if a newer model has been released and price accordingly.
Build In a Negotiation Buffer
Most Kenyan buyers expect to negotiate. If your target is KES 12,000, list at KES 13,500. Everyone wins when the deal closes.
Drop Price After 7 Days With No Inquiries
If you've had views but no serious inquiries in a week, your price is the problem. Drop 10–15% and watch what happens.
